Obituary
David L. Rand passed away May 20, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in White Plains, NY on December 29, 1948 to Gertrude and Charles Rand. David was a graduate of Stamford High School and a lifetime resident of Stamford. He was the co-owner of Career Talent Scouts for four years. Mr. Rand was a scoutmaster for Troop 15 in Stamford. David inspired and mentored hundreds of boy scouts, and was truly a scoutmaster to us all. He volunteered for numerous organizations and causes. He enjoyed his work with passion. David was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Mark J. Rand. He is survived by his longtime partner and love of his life, Susan Reilly, two rescue dogs, Shelby and Wally, and Clyde the cat. In addition, he is survived by his niece, Ally, his three nephews, Matthew, Jesse, and Shane Rand, as well as his sister in law, Mimi Rand, and his 4 cousins, Diane Reed, Miriam Gardner-Frum, Debra Holcombe, and Dan Dietz. David was a gracious, thankful, and playful person with a zest for life, filled with adventure and life-long friends whom he cherished.
